What Personal Data We Collect and Why We Collect It
Account Information
For users that register on our website, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except that they cannot change their username and must always retain an email address). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
The site retains your subscription and payment history as displayed on the My Account page under the My Subscriptions and My Payments links. This history is necessary in order to validate an active subscription to the Service.
The user data stored on this site is protected by passwords and file access controls. User passwords are encoded via a hashing algorithm before being stored.
No financial data is kept by our site. That information is passed directly to Stripe.com for credit card payments or to PayPal.com for PayPal payments. Please visit those sites if you wish to know more about their privacy policies.
My Notes and My Bookmarks
The site provides convenient ways to bookmark a page and to write and save notes as you listen to Joel’s recordings. This information is entirely under your control and can be retained on the site for as long as you have an active subscription. This information is visible only to you, and you have complete control of this information. You can delete any bookmarks or notes whenever you choose. Notes can be printed and/or downloaded to your device for your retention prior to deletion.
Contact Us Comments
When visitors send a “Contact Us” message, we may save the text of the message. We also receive and retain the identifying information, including the email address, from the “Contact Us” message data.
Cookies
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks on that device, provided that you do not log out of your account. If you log out of your account or log in from another device, the login cookies will no longer be effective.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics to report anonymously on use of the site pages and the audio players. The site also collects anonymous on-site statistical and usage information for the purpose managing and improving the site. No personal data is collected or stored for analytics.
How Long We Retain Your Data
Your account information and your subscription and payment history are stored on the site as long as you have an active or suspended subscription. This information is removed 90 days after a cancellation.
If you make a bookmark or note, that information is retained as long as you choose to leave that bookmark or note active. If you cancel your subscription, your bookmarks and your notes will be deleted.
What Rights You Have Over Your Data
If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you, though this does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, subscription management, legal, or security purposes.
Where We Send Your Data
No personal data is sent to any other site, other than the financial data that you submit to Stripe or PayPal as described above.
Your Contact Information
We retain your username and email address as part of your subscription. We reserve the right to contact you at that email address for administrative purposes, such as notification of site status or changes. We also reserve the right to send messages to you containing relevant announcements about the Joel S. Goldsmith Streaming Service from time to time. Your contact information will never be used by us nor sold or share with others for purposes of advertising or solicitations.
